gases r more compressible than liquids.
this is because, the particles of gases have a large space between them due to very weak force of attraction between them. But the inter-molecular space of attraction between the particles of liquid is less also the atoms and molecules in gases are much more spread out than in solids or liquids. They vibrate and move freely at high speeds. A gas will fill any container, but if the container is not sealed, the gas will escape. Gas can be compressed much more easily than a liquid or solid

Explanation:
It is known that in gases, molecules are held together by weak Vander waal forces. As a result, molecules are far apart from each other.
Therefore, there is more space between particles of a gas and they are highly compressible in nature.
On the other hand, molecules of a liquid have strong intermolecular forces of attraction as compared to gases. Hence, molecules of a liquid are closer to each other.
Therefore, liquids are less compressible as compared to gases.
