Why is it so that it is easy to learn from our mistakes than from somebody else doing mistake and suffering because of it ?

We feel disconnected. We can't relate. We believe we are different, we won't think, feel and act the way we did.
Said that, we might ne making excuses, we might be acting lazy, unwilling to learn, rigid, under inertia.
Factually, we can learn from just about anything- animate or inanimate.
If we relate with the thing or being, we will learn
