Why is it that during transportation of carbohydrates in plants it is in the form of Sucrose but in animals it is in the form of Glucose?

Sucrose and starch are more efficient in energy storage when compared to glucose and fructose, but starch is insoluble in water. ... So plants uses the sucrose as a medium to transfer energy. Inside the cells, sucrose is converted back to glucose and fructose. Energy is yielded when it is needed.

It s mainly due to the difference in the presence of various enzymes that digest sucrose in plants and glucose in animals . The difference also arises due to the variation of transporters in animals and plants as glucose being a monosaccharide is easier for animals to transport and sucrose being a disaccharide is suitable for plants
