The visible spectrum is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that isvisible to the human eye.Electromagnetic radiation in this rangeof wavelengths is called visible light or simply light. A typical human eye will respond to wavelengths from about 390 to 700 nm.

WAVELENGTHS OF VISIBLE LIGHT. All
electromagnet radiation is light ,but we can only see a small portion of this radiation- the portion we call visible light. Cone shaped cells in our eyes act as a receivers tuned to the wavelengths in a narrow band of the spectrum.
