SOLUTION :

Organisations are not always able to accomplish all their objectives because planning suffers from the following limitations :

Planning leads to rigidity :

plans are drawn in the light of future goals to be achieved within a specified period of time. This makes the managers to follow the plans with rigidity but it becomes difficult for them to follow planned strategies in a changing environment. So they should be given flexibility to change the plans as per the changing situations.

Planning may not work in dynamic environment :

Every business enterprise deals in the changing environment and environment consists of various dimensions.

The changes may upset the plans and the business units need to adapt to such changes and make necessary changes in the plans to achieve their set objectives.

Planning reduces creativity :

Main plans are set by the top management and derivative plan (supportive plans) are drawn by the managers working at different levels. Once the plans are set, the scope for the changes is not normally permitted at any level. Thus, the creativity of different individual is killed but changes are done if there are serious problems affecting the main plans.

Planning involves huge costs :

Preparation of plans involve lot of costs in terms of time and money. Plans require check of accuracy of facts and scientific investigation of facts and figures .Sometimes , the cost involved in the planning may not justify the benefits derived from the plans. Incidental costs also increase overall cost of the plans.
