Why is it that when we stand outside in an isolated dark area we see thousands of stars but when i see pictures of astronauts on the moon, i see no stars around them? like its just black? its a stupid question i know, but ive always wondered about this..

They see stars in the space, its just that all the photographs are focused on other things. You can the pictures of stars in space too. But sometimes the reflection of light from sun by the earth or moon makes the dimmer light vanish
