In a democratic government, people vote their representatives.( Legislature) and the ministers come under Executive. Legislature makes the laws, Executive implements the laws, and the role of judiciary is to check over them like whether everyone is following the law or not. If any person including the president violates the law Judiciary has the power to punish them. So Judiciary is very important in a democracy.
