Mumbai and thiruvananthapuram both recieve rainfall from south west monsoon in summer, it bear seasonal winds flow from Arabian sea to the mainland of India from south west direction and Mumbai location about 10° north of thiruvananthapuram, hence thiruvananthapuram recieves rain on 1st july and reach Mumbai on 2nd week of july therefore July is rainier in Mumbai than in Thiruvananthapuram.

"The reason behind the more rain in Mumbai than Thiruvananthapuram as the Mumbai is located on the 10° north of Thiruvananthapuram which is a suitable place for rain than in Thiruvananthapuram.

The wind flows Mumbai from Arabian sea. Due to the cold wind rain comes in Thiruvananthapuram on first July and reaches Mumbai in second week of July. Hence "July is rainier in Mumbai" than Thiruvananthapuram due to the above explained conditions."
