  • it is of low cost
  • it is easily available
  • can give good calorific value but not the best

The kerosene is considered to be disabled fuel in rural areas because of the following reasons:-

1.It mainly available in market or rashon shop at cheaply rates.

2.Instead of LPG is is alternate for cooking,burning stoves etc.

3.The most economically accessible and widely used kerosene lamps provide poor illumination relative to electricity and can be highly inefficient [17], converting as much as a tenth of the fuel carbon to health-impacting and climate-altering particulate matter .

4.Measures to promote inter-fuel substitution in domestic lighting by promoting rural electrification have met with partial success.

5.It highlights the existing problems with the kerosene distribution system and examines the subsidy-based, supply driven approach to distribution in terms of facilitating access to the poor.
