Why is land ploughed and levelled before sowing ?

Land is ploughed before sowing, to allow the passage of air through the soil particles, and allow percolation of water to the bottommost layers of the soil. After ploughing, the land is levelled so that birds, winds and other agents can't displace the seeds☺️☺️
