Mendeleev's periodic table had a few drawbacks:
1)Isotopes of the same element which had similar chemical properties were placed in wrong positions
2)Hydrogen was a ambiguous element.
3)Anomalous Pair of elements:Argon with atomic mass 39.9 preceded potassium with atomic mass 39.1.Similar was the case with cobalt (58.9)and nickel(58.6)
4)Grouping of chemically dissimilar elements . Eg: Copper and Platinum were placed in different places
5)Separation of chemically similar elements . Eg :Gold and Platinum were placed in different places
6) There was no emphasis on electronic configuration.
