Aristotle is responsible for the same, he called human beings as social animals, adding even political animals for human beings. It was Charles Darwin who associated evolution of human beings to apes. So, there you are. Human beings have to work in a polity, which can not be escaped hence a Political animal, human beings have to live in a society, so social animals, too.
