Hi...

mars are also known as a Red planet because it looks bright red color in the sky.
it look like red colr due to it Martians rocks.
also the photos of mars show red color,

actually it is the rusty surface of mars i.e it is rich of iron oxide and iron oxide show red color.
actually in mars,Mars’ iron oxide would have formed a long time ago, when the planet had more liquid water.

and when mars was becomes start dead then
Iron left out in the rain and will get covered with rust as the oxygen in the air and water reacts with the iron in the metal to create a film of iron oxide.

thanks for asking

Because of its distinctive rusty hue, Mars is commonly referred to as the Red Planet. Even from Earth, the color of the planet may be seen with the naked eye; it appears in the night sky as a red star.

Explanation:

  • Particles of iron oxide are all over Mars' surface. Rust gets its red hue from iron oxide, the same substance.
  • Due to its smaller size and lesser gravity compared to Earth, Mars has an abundance of iron oxide on its surface.
  • The planets' surfaces would have been formed of infernal lakes of molten rock and metals, including naturally occurring iron oxide, when they were forming some four billion years ago.
