Martin Luther King Jr. was the chosen president for the Montgomery Improvement Association. According to him, it was love and not violence that was the most powerful weapon that helped one to achieve anything.
He was against the Jim Crow laws that were two separate sets of laws for the blacks and whites. Martin Luther King encouraged people to violate laws if they were found to be unjust. Thus, he was actively involved in the fight for equal rights for the blacks in America.
