medival period of history is considered as more important than ancient period because the events which took place in this period such as (age of revolution, social reformation, industrial revolution)took placeand all this give shape to the modern era of technology , humanitarianism,etc. As compared to ancient history not more sources are available to study it and if available then their authenticity is not sure and mediaeval period has lot of authentic sources. So it is considered more important.

Through this period paper gradually became cheaper and more widely available. People used it to write holy texts, chronicles of rulers, letters and teachings of saints, petitions and judicial records, and for registers of accounts and taxes. Manuscripts were collected by wealthy people, rulers, monasteries and temples. They were placed in libraries and archives.
