Minerals are the building block upon which life and our modern society depend. that's why minerals are important. Most of the ore minerals that are mined are those composed of metals, usually combined with other elements into specific compounds called minerals. They are important because mining them can be very profitable, they are necessary for any form of civilization to exist.
