Mining is limited to the sites because of overmining there could be a cause to get earthquake and landslide in that area.Minerals can be found throughout the world in the earth's crust but usually in such small amounts that they not worth extracting.

Different ways of mineral extraction are:

1) Open cast mining

2) Shaft mining

Hope it helps:)

HERE'S YOUR ANSWER

It is so because in this process the minerals are separated from other rocks after they are removed from the mining pit. Also it has a large impact on the earth's surface. The different ways of minerals extraction are as follows:-
i) Underground mining: It is category of mining in which the overlying rock is left in place and the mineral is removed through shafts or tunnels.
ii) Surface mining: It is a broad category of mining in which soil and rock overlying the mineral deposits are removed.
iii) Placer mining: It is the mining of stream bed deposits for minerals.
