Moon is which in color because it reflects the light of sun but u may think that the sun is yellow in color. The only reason the sun is yellow is because of our atmosphere. Due to the way light scatters through the atmosphere the bluer wavelengths of light are lost giving the sun a more yellow look, even though it is actually more white than any other colour in reality.
