As the long cable wires have more cross sectional area, the resistance produced is little as compared to a filament wire. The long cables are made up of a good conductor of electricity and hence the resistance is also little as compared to a filament.

as we know AREA =l*b
so here we can see that as big as the length as big will be the area
as R inversely proportional to the area so , if the area will be bigger then the resistance will be less so the heat produced will also get reduced (H is directly proportional to R).
