as we know that degradable wastes can be decomposed by soil but non degradable waste can not be decomposed by soil therefore muncipal sewage is first seperated in these two categories so as to confirm that their is no soil erosion because of non degradable wastes in the soil.

Municipal sewage is seperated into degradable and non-degradable wastes as because degradable wastes can be biologiacally degraded or decomposed or dump into pits or yards so that it can help increasing the fertility of the soil and used by the plants.
