The three main source of natural water are Surface water, underground water and Rain water.
Surface water is available on earth in the form of  oceans , rivers, lakes etc.
Underground water present deep inside earth.
Rain water which comes in the form of rain or other forms of precipitation.
The natural water is not safe for drinking because of the following reasons:
1. It is contaminated by release of sewage  and toxic chemicals from industries which causes threat to aquatic life and if humans drinks contaminated water they are prone to water borne diseases like Typhoid, cholera, Dysentery, Jaundice  etc.
2. water can be contaminated by release of pesticides and fertilizers whcih is not

The natural water is not considered safe for drinking because it is contaminated with many impurities that comes naturally and also in the form of different chemicals from industries. Due to these reason we should avoid drinking natural water as it can cause many diseases in us. There are different methods like chlorination etc used to purify the natural water.
