Why is navigation easier in the rivers of northern India than the rivers of southern India?

Answer:

In the northern regions, rivers have perennial flow i.e. they flow throughout the year. Whereas, in southern India, rivers are seasonal in nature.

Also, rivers of northern India have comparatively larger and longer courses (length and width).
