why is Navya's victory significant

Answer:
old Navya Singh has proven that even a child can raise her voice against unfair developments in her city, and be heard. Navya submitted a plea against the Delhi Development Authoritie’s (DDA) plan for converting a large portion of a children’s park into a multi-purpose hall.On hearing about the DDA’s proposal, Navya wondered where she would play with her friends. She used to go to the park every morning and evening. The park is also frequented by many other children as well as elderly citizens. The DDA’s decision would destroy the open space, the greenery, the play equipment, the benches and more importantly, the freedom they all enjoyed. In June 2017, the DDA cordoned off nearly one-third of the park and began construction. The place was barricaded, large machines were brought in, and Navya and other citizens were not allowed to enter. Upset with this development, Navya started thinking about what she could do. Then in August, 2017, with the help of her father, advocateDheeraj Kumar Singh, she filed a plea in the court to save the park. She also wrote an open letter to the Prime Minister, asking him to save the important landmark. Several other citizens and groups supported Navya’s initiative.Navya’s petition stated that there was already a community hall just fifty metres away from the park. Demolishing the park would not only take away the green space of the locality, it would also be a waste of public money. After the court went through the plea, it asked the DDA to stop all work at the park. Eventually, the DDA decided to return the park to its original state.Navya said that this was a victory not just for her but also for all her friends. Given the need of saving our environment and conserving whatever green spaces are left in our cities,we should be thankful to the brave seven year old.
