Explanation:

Nitrogen in Plants

Nitrogen is so vital because it is a major component of chlorophyll, the compound by which plants use sunlight energy to produce sugars from water and carbon dioxide (i.e., photosynthesis). It is also a major component of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins.

All living organisms require nitrogen to live.

They help to make food in plants.

All plants need nitrogen to make amino acids, proteins and DNA, but the nitrogen in the atmosphere is not in a form that they can use.

Nitrogen is introduced to the soil by fertilizers or animal and plant residues.

Bacteria in the soil convert the nitrogen to ammonium and nitrate, which is taken up by the plants by a process of nitrogen fixation.

Hope this helps :)
