Mexico (official name: the United Mexican States) is a federal presidential representative democratic republic where the president is both head of state and head of government. The current government of Mexico is guided by the 1917constitution.

Answer:

Mexico was not a democratic country before 2000's .

Then , a certain party called ( PRI) Institutional  Revolutionary Party had always won the elections . The PRI had used many dirty tricks to win the elections . Unlike in China , the PRI had other three competitiors which include the National Action Party and the Party Of The Democratic Revolution . The PRI had forced many people to vote for them and even shifted poll booths to areas where the crowds would flock to vote . The campaign would spend a lot of money on the candidates .
