Why is O4 unstable? In sinple words

on finding the valency and nature of oxygen we

found that the valency is 2 and it is most simple in form of two so $O_4$ is unstable

but on the other hand $O_2$ is stable

9660486666mtmtmt: Well, Mr. Anshu, thanks for your answer but, it doesn't prove why is O4 chemically unstable since, sulphur's valency is also 2 but it combines to form S4

Anonymous: the bond of O8 will same as O2 but it is not so in O4 just becuase of its nature
