Answer to the first question - Ocean water is abundant in supply, but it is not fit for use. It can be filtered and used, but if worldwide consumption starts taking place, it can result in a large number of expenses, as it is not as easy to filter it like lake or ground water. Due to its being exposed to factory chemicals and large amounts of metals and salts, it cannot be also used for other functions in a raw form.
