why is openoffice writer called a WYSIWYG program?

The openoffice writer  displays the page on the screen and then we write content and include images.

When we display the document it appears exactly like what it is in editing time.  That is :  WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get.... It means when we print a document from  the writer,  it will be printed exactly like  its appearance on the screen.
