We prefer parallel arrangement for domestic use instead of series as appliances can be put independently to each other. Also, if one appliance gets damaged it won't affect the working of other appliance, which may not be the case in series arrangement.
Also, Each circuit will have the same potential difference (Connected in parallel) Thus each appliance will work in a constant voltage.
