HEY MATE....

Parenchyma is called a permanent tissue because :-

It doesn't have the power of cell division. It's cells do not divide. It provides support, storage etc to the plant.Cell organelles are well developed for parenchyma. The metabolic rate of this tissue is slow.Nucleus of each cell of this tissue is less conspicuous.Intercellular spaces are present.Cells of this tissue possess crystals and other inclusions.Large central vacuole occurs in its cells.

Two specialised types of parenchymaare chlorenchyma and aerenchyma.

Types of parenchyma are:
1. When parenchyma contains chlorophyll and performs photosynthesis, it is called chlorenchyma.
2. Parenchyma is called aerenchyma when it contains large air cavities. It gives buoyancy to the aquatic plants and helps them to float.

Hey... here's your answer.

Answer:

Parenchyma is called a permanent tissue because:

  • It doesn't have the power of cell division. It's cell do not divide.
  • It provides support, storage, etc. to the plant.

Two special types of parenchyma and their specific roles in plants:

  1. Chlorenchyma - Parenchyma cells with chloroplast form chlorenchyma. They manufacture food for the plant by photosynthesis. Chlorenchyma is found in all green parts of the plant
  2. Aerenchyma - In aquatic plants, larege air cavities are present between the parenchyma cells. Such a parenchyma is called aerenchyma. It helps aquatic plants in floating.

Hope this will help you.

Thank You.
