Answer:
South India is below Tropic of Cancer & above Equator. The Sun in Winter moves towards South Pole which is known as DAKSHINAYA . As Australia, Fiji & New Zealand etc near South Pole & near Tropic of Capricorn are having their summer, South India has its second summer after rainy season. The Sun during winter comes closer to Earth in Winter & is harsher with UV rays. The long sea coast adds to increase in temperature + drying up of land after rains. This makes in all a hot weather in Winter. South means Dakshina in Sanskrit & Dakshinayana means climbing towards South Pole .
