why is Phosphorus stored under water and not sodium​

Phosphorus is stored underwater because it reacts vigorously with O² whereas Sodium reacts vigorously with H²O.

Therefore,Phosphorus is stored under water and sodium is not.

To prevent the contact of phosphorus with atmospheric oxygen,it is stored in water. Whereas,sodium is very reactive. It reacts very fastly with oxygen and water. Because of this reason it do not stored under sodium
