Pi is an irrational number since its value is  \frac{22}{7} , which is a non-terminating decimal. We know that if the denominator of the simplest fraction is not 2 or 5 , then it becomes recurring.Pi is used in mathematical calculations mostly for finding out area and volume of figures involving any circular dimension. It is denoted by the symbol  \pi .It is sometimes taken as 3.14 (approx) for convenience.
