Why is pituitary glands also called th 'master gland' of the body?

as the pituituary gland gives commands to all other glands of our body to function properly. it activates all our hormones to work properly and helps them to be released only when we need it, that too in the right amounts.

pituitary glands also called the master gland of the body because it controls all the release of the other glands in our body. so it is called as the master gland of our body. and even pituitary gland controls all other glands for their release.
