Poltical science is to a large extent the study of Power. The what, why, how and who of power. Various theories are propounded as to the origin of Power itself. Is there a divine ordination and justification for Power? Power for what. To decide how the limited resources are allocated or the power to reward virtue and punish vice? How about the State. Is it truly the March of God on earth? Or is it just an instrument of manipulation at the hands of the bourgeoisie? What about legitimacy. Why should people obey the Power of the State? Was there a contract between the people and the state? If so then on what basis and to what end? etc…
