Federal power sharing reduces the tensions of conflict and disintegration.It promotes unity of the country and tries to accommodate regional diversities.India realised the effectiveness of federal power sharing and therefore adopted steps like formation of new states on linguistic basis which made India more united as states got privilege to promote their native language.No language was imposed on any community.
Moreover, there is no national language in India.Apart from Hindi, 21 other languages were recognised by the constitution.In the field of centre- state relations also a new culture of coalition government has emerged since 1990.
Many regional parties rose in power in many states.Now the respect and autonomy of the state governments has increased.Without their support no major political power can form the government.The Central Government cannot dismiss the state governments arbitrarily.
