1)prudential and moral reasons. prudential reasons are that it avoids conflicts. social conflicts leads to violence and political instability.
2) imposing the will of majority community over minority may look like an attractive option in short run but later.. it can undermine the unity of our nation. moral reasons are that power sharing is the very spirit of democracy. a democratic rule involves power sharing with those who are affected by it .
