POWER SHARING IS DESIRABLE :-

This is because of following reasons

• PRUDENTIAL REASON

1. Power sharing helps in maintaining stability of the country.
2. Rule by majority can be a good idea for short run but in long run it leads to division of the country.
3. Power sharing helps in solving arised disputes.

• MORAL REASON

1. Power sharing is very spirit of Democracy.
2. People can control the government.
3. A legitimate government is where people have stalk in decision making .

THREE FORMS OF POWER SHARING :-

• Power can be shared between organs of the government like - legislature , executive and judiciary .This is known as horizontal power sharing. Each organ checks functioning of other so known as system of check and balance

• Power can be shared among different level of the government i.E. Fedral form of power sharing among centre, state and local-self government .This is known as Vertical system of power sharing .

• Power can be shared among different political parties. The one which wins majority seats and wins the election becomes rulling party and defeated one becomes the opposition party.

• Power can also be shared among backward groups like SC,ST, OBC and women. Pressure groups and movements can force government for doing something.
