Importance of predation is mentioned below-
Predation is a symbiotic relationship between two organisms where one organism feed or eats the other organism.
Though predation results in death of organisms, but it is an important measure. This is because they keep the population in control, by consuming dominant species.
The competition in that species reduces as more food becomes available for remaining organisms of that species. Predation can also act on foundation species.
These are the one which support organisms by being eaten by latter.
Example owls hunting mice.
Removal of owls may result in large number of mouse population negatively affecting crop storage as well as causing pathogenic diseases.
