Explanation:

Numerous studies document the existence of bias: bias against gender, race, sexual orientation, age, mental illness, and body shape or weight. This article presents a model of bias development, which helps explain the influence of mediated, individual, social, and ideological influences on the development of bias. This article applies the proposed model using four experimental studies that examine weight bias in children and adults.

Answer:

Just like every other business, media companies run on money. They report in ways that insures a good income. The public has proven they will be loyal to media programs that present issues and editorials in agreement with their prejudices and call those in disagreement “fake news”, so there’s your answer. I believe these media outlets are controlled by people I call “Abusers of Power”. Their goal is to amass greater power and wealth at all costs, so the more they can sensationalize the news (even to the extent of creating lies and deceptive videos), the more people will watch. It’s a vicious cycle, but it can be stopped if views will watch with open minds and educate themselves by requiring all scoops be verified by at least 3 sources

There are news outlets that present verified facts, but people of narrow thinking call them communists, fake, and a host of other negative names. I had hoped the exposure of news organizations and individuals who publicly posted Russian bots would motivate Americans to demand truth from the “news” shows they watch, but it seems to have caused some people to double down their loyalty for the very people who are deceiving them. I think the media will discontinue their prejudicial propaganda when views turn to them for information rather than comfort and validation of their distorted thinking.
