Its key duty is to inform people about impartial news without any censorship/tampering, whether in print or TV / radio. People always trust actual and honest news.

The freedom of speech and the space given for dissent by various parts of society is one of the advantages of a democratic system. Participation on the part of the people is essential for the political system to work to its maximum capacity, which successively involves the dissemination of accurate knowledge to the masses on various public issues. This is where the role of mass media come in.
• Many factors make the media prejudiced. Inside the media, there is cultural , ethnic, political prejudice. In presenting critical topics, the media is not fully truthful and impartial. In order to help a particular party and influence public opinion, particular issues are manipulated and presented by the media in a certain manner. That poses a danger to the future of democracy in India, unless it is remedied urgently. This problem can be solved in two ways : firstly, democratic, that is, by debates, consultations and persuasion, and otherwise by using retributive action against the media, such as imposing heavy fines on defaulters, stopping government ads,  suspending their license etc
