Why is pressure a scalar quantity?

it is a scalar quantity because it only gives the magnitude and not the direction ...

Because in a scalar quantity there is no direction added and in pressure also no direction is used . Ok nobody says that the pressure that we are applying the pressure from this direction or from that direction.
