why is pressure a scalar quantity while force is a vector quantity

pressure is a scalar quantity because only the magnitude of pressure is counted and not the direction we know that it is according and corresponding to the force but when we talk of course we need to give the direction as well otherwise it is not clear

Pressure is defined as force per unit area. Since pressure has no direction and they are compared only in the terms of their magnitude, so it is considered as a Scalar quantity.Whereas Thrust is the force acting on a body perpendicular to its surface.
