As the iron cannot retain the electro magnetism, the electric flow is stopped in the coil and wound around the soft iron.

This should always focus in making a permanent magnet that has clear magnets compounds.

The permanent magnets are made according to the magnetic substances which can retain magnetism that have more retentively like steel.

As the soft Iron cannot retain the electro magnetism after electric flow is stopped in the coil wound around the soft iron soft iron not used for making a permanent magnet. so the permanent magnets are made by the magnetic substances which can retain magnetism and have more retentivity like steel.

Ordinary bar magnets are made of Iron, usually relatively soft Iron. The metals in Alnico magnets are indicated by the pairs of letters making up the name, Aluminum, Nickel and Cobalt. Nickel and Cobalt are the ferromagnetic materials.

This magnetic field is invisible but is responsible for the most notable property of a magnet: a force that pulls on other ferromagnetic materials, such as iron, and attracts or repels othermagnets. ... A permanent magnet is an object made from a material that is magnetized and creates its own persistent magnetic field.

pure iron is very soft
