Hi friend...... here's your answer......
Rainbows are in a shape of arc because they represent reflections of sunlight off of drops of water and into your eyes. The Shape formed by all those rays is a cone and thus the projected surface is a circle. The different colors result because different wavelengths are bent in the drops and reflected at different angles.

When sunlight hits a raindrop, the red light waves are bent at an angle of 42 degrees from their original direction from the sun. Shorter violet light waves are only bent at an angle of 40 degrees. The other colored light frequencies are bent at angles in between these two.......
