Answer:- RAM is called 'volatile' memory by analogy because if the computer loses power, all the data stored in RAM (or other volatile memory) is lost or 'evaporates'. Non-volatile memory ismemory that keeps its data while the system isn't running.

Answer :-

RAM (Random Access Memory) is called volatile memory, because in RAM memory gets erased on turning off the power. Computer has two types of memory, RAM & ROM (Read only Memory). ... For permanently storing data like files, videos or photos, ROM is used.
