As the energy made by the thylakoid membrane of the chloroplasts present in the leaf need light to gain higher states of energy, a sunny day will provide much more light than a cloudy day, increasing the rate of photosynthesis. If there is too much concentration, temperatures might go above 40 C,killing enzymes necessary for photosynthesis and halting the process.
