Cellulose is a natural polymer and so rayon obtained from its regeneration is called "semi-synthetic fibre" or artificial fibre.

EXPLANATION:

Rayon is a 'semi-synthetic fibre' and a man-made fibre. This fibre is made by 'chemical reaction' of carbon disulphide and 'NaOH' with natural cellulose or wood pulp.

Rayon is a regenerated form of cellulosic fibre.  Rayon is a very soft fibre which is used for making several types if clothing items. It is also easy to maintain and does not degrade easily.
