why is reaction between Methane and chlorine in the presence of Sunlight considered a substitution reaction

Reaction=>
CH4( gas)+ Cl( aq)====> CH2 + 2HCl
methane+ chlorine===> 2 mole of+ mix.

CH4 + Cl2 gives CH3Cl + HCl
substitution reaction us a reaction in which chlorine is added to the saturated hydrocarbons in the presence of sunlight .It is called as substitution reaction becoz one kind of atom substitutes for two or more kinds of atoms
