Why is reflection of light similar to bouncing a ball?

It can be said so because when light hits a mirror,the proportion of velocity that's perpendicular to its get reversed,while the portion that's parallel is not affected.lights reflect because it's a wave that can't propagate in certain materials like metal,so it bounces off of it.

when the light propagates on the mirror it reflects it is perpendicular to it ana reverse and the light is in waves do it not travels in all objects it travels in some materials like metals
